Animation for motion poster

After we finished rendering all the plants, we decided to jazz up our project by making a moving poster. Since we didn’t have a scene with all the flowers together, we had to create one as our main visual. We brainstormed ideas for the poster, aiming to make it lively and interesting. Keeping the animation short and sweet was key, so it wouldn’t be too much for viewers to take in. Plus, one of our team members, who knows a lot about editing, gave us some great tips.

We also used a shared sheet to keep track of our progress, which helped us stay organized and work better together.

Working progress in C4D

Lighting in C4D can take up a lot of time, especially since I have to test it multiple times to get it right. Textures also play a big role in how the lighting turns out. Sometimes, I have to tweak or change the materials to make sure the lighting looks good in the end.

Modeling the base floor for the main visual

For the composition part, I decided to take it a step further. Instead of just using the models we already had, I created a whole new setting. Imagine it like an island where all our flowers grow together. This not only adds a fresh element but also makes the scene more cohesive and visually appealing.

Therefore, I started to model in C4D to test what it looks like.

WIP in modeling and aniamtion:

Using C4D to model each flower was just the beginning. I then tested motion, ensuring each movement was slow and graceful.

But then, I began to ponder how all these flowers could move together, like a synchronized dance. It got me thinking about how to convey a sense of futuristic style and emotion to the audience.

The key point is highlighting how our visual sets itself apart from present-day flowers. Since our project focuses on future plants, the visuals might seem quite different at first glance. It could be overwhelming to watch, but that’s okay because these are the flowers of the future, right? haha

  1. I really enjoy rendering and crafting graphic layouts. It’s fulfilling to see the final result come together after putting in the effort to perfect the details.
  2. I’m fascinated by the opportunity to experiment with 3D artwork. It’s a chance to push the boundaries of creativity and explore new techniques.
  3. Collaborating with students from different courses is invaluable. Their unique perspectives and feedback help us improve and learn new skills, creating a dynamic environment for growth and innovation.

I also made a vertical version of the video for platforms like Instagram or Facebook. This way, it’s better for viewing on phones and can reach more people online.

Motion graphic – Video for making of :

For the making of the video, we aimed for simplicity while maintaining high standards instead of just assembling clips together. With the help of students from the visual effects team, we had great teamwork in post-production.

I understand that in the advertising industry, the post-production department is often under tight deadlines and pressure, as they have limited time to work on it after animation or production.

However, I’m very grateful to have a team member with job experience in post-production who can provide valuable insights on the video. I’ve learned a lot of skills from her.

In this video, I assisted her with the motion graphics needed for the concept introduction part. It’s challenging to convey ideas with just text, so I created graphics with moving images to explain our concept more effectively.
