Week 10 –

Previs Version 6

This is my last one of previs. ( yes!! )

This marks the final stage of my previs. Throughout the polishing process, I’ve gained valuable insights into the significance of previs for directors in understanding animation. As an animator, I’ve come to realize that previs isn’t solely about movement; it’s about effectively conveying a story and communicating intentions through the camera’s perspective.

In the transition segment, I employed the character continuously walking within the clock to signify the passage of time and the monotonous nature of life. I revisited the walking cycle, practicing with my own character, which proved to be challenging. Moving forward, I aim to dedicate more time to honing my animation skills, particularly in perfecting the walking animation over the coming months.

Advanced Body Mechanics Planning

Here is my planning for the first.

In the scene, three characters play distinct roles: first, a woman executes a flip jump, serving as the central focus. Behind her, another woman prepares to move a snowball, intending to build a snowman. The third character, the snowman itself, awaits completion. As the scene unfolds, the climax arrives when the woman’s jump causes the snowman to topple over, adding a comedic twist to the narrative.

This week, we delved into Body Mechanics planning, a crucial aspect of animation. Our task was to seek out a reference video that could guide our character’s movements. After scouring through various options, I stumbled upon a meme video that instantly caught my attention with its sheer hilarity. Upon consulting with the tutor, we collectively decided to focus on a specific segment of the video where the character slips while attempting to move a snowball.

This snippet presented an ideal scenario for exploring body mechanics and offered ample opportunities for dynamic and engaging animation sequences.
